Located in the Capitol Hill Community of North West Calgary on 21st. Avenue and 15th. Street. Owned by the City of Calgary as a Heritage Site, the 31St Scout group has used and cared for this building since 1961. Would you like to see recent photos of this people place in a seperate window?

Originally built as one of fifteen "cottage schools", in Calgary before 1912, to keep up with the city's rapidly growing population. These two-room, two-storey, wood frame buildings were designed to serve as temporary schools, and then be converted to residences once larger permanent schools were built. The wood siding and small-enclosed porch help give it a residential appearance. The building was never converted to a residence and is now protected as a Calgary Heritage Site.
