Regular Beaver meetings are held at the Scout Hall on Mondays. Meetings start with a 10 minute gathering time, this is at 6:20PM, the meeting starts promptly at 6:30PM. Most meetings conclude at 7:30PM, however on beaver outings the meeting night may extend to 8:00PM. Scouting is a year round program with regular meetings commencing in early September and continue till late May.

Both Girls and Boys are invited to join Beavers. The 31st strongly believes that scouts should be open to all youth. Beavers meet in a group called a colony. The colony is split into smaller groups called lodges. There is one leader for every five Beavers. Each Beaver learns a promise, law and motto to help guide their personal development.

The Beaver program emphasizes having fun while encouraging children to feel good about themselves, their friends and family, God, and nature. Beavers helps children learn basic social skills and gain self confidence.

The Beaver program is built around a lively variety of games, crafts, music, storytelling, playacting, spiritual fellowship and the outdoors. Beaver activities stress cooperation and teamwork, and can involve the whole family.

At the 31St. Beaver Colony, we use an internet e-mail group site to help distribute news and information to the members of the colony and their families. The e-group site is open to all members of the 31st Scout Group. This group site also allows members to post messages, view photos and text relating to beaver activities, and visit beaver related internet links. If you would like to join this site please read carefully the information file, it will let you know the quickest, easiest method to sign-up.
